thrift refashion. number one.

So, I have made some thrift store purchases this summer, and some of them needed to be changed. The first one was a shirt with sewed in under-sleeve type things. Like this:
And I thought that looked rather childish so I ripped out the sleeves with a nifty seam ripper. super easy. and this was the end result. Why am I such a creepy photo subject??

I kind of forgot to cut off some threads. So I have a thread mustache. hee hee.
Now I look like a freakish barbie/voldemort. (for all you harry potter people)
and this is my cute kitty :)

random is good.

So, apparently I like random things. but hey, that's good right? I think it is easier to design things when you have a random inspiration or theme in mind. That's where these 3 outfits came from. The design on the left was inspired by cherries. The shirt is cherry print, the shrug is like a whole bunch of cherry stems connected together, and the flats have a cherry on the front. The center design was brought to you by forks. (Which are wondrous inventions by the way... ) The shirt is fork print and the shoes are metal-looking. The shorts are stitched with gray. And then there is a blue-green belt with a bow. Which is... just random. The design on the right is a pink cardigan with mesh-ish lining, a yellow romper, blue-gray cable tights, and button up boots. and a carrot necklace. of course. And there you have it. The end.

A quick note.

Garage sales are the best. When else can you get 4 decent shirts and a pair of shorts for $2.50? It pretty much made my day :). This is a really short post but I had to share that wonderful information!

Recycle!

Hey! This post is for a chance for me to get a scholarship. (which would be nice.... so if you would like to keep reading, I would be grateful :))
I think recycling is really, really important. Every day our environment becomes a little more cluttered up, which endangers all kinds of animals, plants, and even humans. And this is the only world we have, so we might as well do our best to save it from all the trashy things going on today! You can reuse a ton of things, it can be anything, not just paper and plastic, even things like old clothes (see my recycled skirt post), every little thing helps! We all need to work together and do our part to SAVE THE PLANET! Now this is the important part. Please go to this link here, http://www.castleink.com/ and see an example of an eco-friendly company. (Make sure to click on the link, because that is how to win the scholarship) Thanks guys, and remember to recycle!
