tamsyn: 30 for 30 preview

So Markee and I are planning on doing the 30 for 30 challenge during the month of December. If you don't know what the 30 for 30 is, here is an explanation: (I'm so kind)
basically, you take 30 articles of clothing you own and wear them in different combinations for 30 days. so you learn to mix and match... and stuff.
I chose all of my pieces and took pictures of them just for you. you're welcome.
so. here they are.

9 shirts

including this green shirt, this blue shirt, this pink shirt, this thrifted white shirt, and this home-made grape shirt

4 pairs of pants
including these jeans, these skinny jeans, and these blue pants

5 skirts
including this purple pencil skirt, this brown skirt, this plaid skirt, and this patterned skirt

6 cardigans

including this off-white one, this gray and cream one, this purple and gray one, and this black one

2 jackets

4 pairs of shoes

including these lace flats

so. those are my choices. hopefully I chose well. I'm a bit worried about the shoe selection... but whatev.
oh, and I reserve the right to add accesories including tights, scarves, bows, jewelry, belts, etc.
this is going to be fun...
and to prove my math. 9+4+5+6+2+4=30

here is my attempt.

apparently my sister likes to tilt the camera

because there always has to be at least one awkward picture...

an experiment

I tried something new today. instead of scanning this design I took a picture of it. what do you think? is it easier to see?
one thing I don't like is that it made the colors kind of off... like the brown on the boots looks gross...

fixed shirt

so, i've had this shirt sitting in my closet forever after I fixed it, and finally wore it today. I have no idea where it came from.
I cut around the neckline because it was too high, and I didn't like the edging. and I cut about an inch from the sleeves because they were too short to be long sleeves.
I didn't resew the edges, so it's just a cut neckline and sleeves. if that makes sense...
also, I practiced my mirror picture taking skills today. it was an adventure. here are the results. (once again.. creepy photo subject alert.)
I wore it two ways. tucked in the front...
 and untucked...
and I thought I would include some of my failures. for your viewing pleasure.

if you know me, that last one is my peeved face. with the twitching eyeball.
welp, I hope you all have a fabulous thanksgiving. I'm so excited to eat.

a newish old dress.

remember that DI trip from forever ago? like... the beginning of october?
well, I finally got around to refashioning a dress I got on that trip. And here it is.
                                                          Before.... awesome picture....

After:
What I did: took in the sides a few inches because it was a little big. I was also going to hem it but decided not to. I still could. Should I?
I got it because I liked the print and colors. And like I said before, I like grandma dresses. I can just imagine the little old lady who owned this before me.
Outfit deets.
dress: DI, refashioned by me
bow tights: payless
cardigan: urban wear
belt: great-grandma's

dying shoes

I've had these two pairs of shoes for a couple of years and they are dying. it's quite tragic

should I be embarrassed that i still wear these in public? because i'm not. ha

these lacy ones are one of my favorite pairs. I can't believe they have lasted this long. and I will be wearing them until it is no longer humanly possible.

Fashion show stress

I'm in charge of a fashion show tomorrow. Honestly it is very stressful and I'm nervous that it won't turn out great. It is very stressful especially when you have work from 4 to 6 and you have to go there at 6 to be ready. Plus I need to help some girls with their outfits. I'm freaking out right now.

30 day challenge?

So I was thinking so everybody who is anybody usually does a 30 day challenge so I was thinking maybe me and Tamsyn should. If this post gets at least 5 comments we will.

dress up

I was going to post this forever ago but I forgot.
these are my future fashionistas (who are also my little cousins), and my brother. I hope he doesn't kill me for putting this on here. they made him play dress-up with them. cute.

how to stand out in a crowd.

  wear this:
sorry. this isn't a very good picture. I look like a grump and it's too cold to do pictures outside. and my sister doesn't like taking a million pictures of me. weird huh.
you can't really tell from the picture but those tights are like brilliantly pink, and that yellow is quite bright. So I was sticking out like no other at church.
outfit details:
cardigan: deb
pink undershirt: downeast
white tank: old navy
skirt: made by me in clothing when I was a sophomore.
hot pink tights: old navy (and they were only 47 cents. oh yes.)
thats all. see ya

We are slackers.

I was reading over our older posts and I found one where Tamsyn said we went to DI and "you know what that means" well we never did anything for that so we will definitely take pictures maybe sometime this week or next week. Sorry guys for slacking.
