this is one of the treasures I picked up at the clothing exchange. it's pretty great. well then again, any free dress is great :)

dress into scarf and shirt

A long time ago I got a blue dress from target. It got too short after a while and so it had been sitting in my closet for ages unworn. I had an epiphany not too long ago and decided to turn it into a shirt. so I unstitched the bottom layer and took in the sides and I discovered the bottom layer could be used as a scarf... tada!

and you will also see that this is my first photographed attempt at wearing tights with shorts. how did I do?

also, the necklace I am wearing has a pretty great backstory. In ninth grade french my crazy teacher would always throw frooties at the class. and so I started collecting the wrappers with my pal kathleen.... I don't know why... and at the end of the school year we had like, millions of wrappers... and we were crafty and made necklaces and stuff. yep. it's special.

oh. and today I went to a clothing exchange with my cool friend erika. and we got some treasures I tell you, TREASURES. I am excited to unveil them.

4th of July

Here are the pictures of my homemade shirt I made for independence day.
I think it turned out pretty well :)

I used this green shirt as a sort of stencil because I liked how it fit... before it shrank anyways... which is why I added the red fabric at the bottom.

I was very proud of myself because this time I remembered to prewash the fabric AND finish the seams which I always forget to do... I'm really smart.

and here is a picture of Markee in her Avengers shirt and me in my homemade shirt at the parade. we are so cute. and white. ridiculously white.

I had a really, really fun holiday spent with family. we went to a parade, had a barbecue with deeeelicous food, launched bottle rockets (and also other random items like smarties and blueberries and smokies... hahaha). and then we went to a grassy area and played and watched fireworks later and played this game. it was wonderful.  

and IT'S RAINING TODAY!!!! YAHOO.

hey guys.

today I would like to tell a story about this satchel.

A long time ago Markee got a satchel from DI. do you not remember? click here. yes. that satchel.

I was secretly jealous of Markee for finding that at a thrift store.

and so every time I went to a thrift store I would look for a leather satchel because I really wanted one that wasn't expensive.

and then when we were at DI two weeks ago I found this little beauty. and so now I am happy. I have a leather satchel. and guess what...

IT WAS ONLY A DOLLAR.

are you Americans all excited for the 4th of july? I am.. it's like my favorite holiday :) except for the whole state of utah is pretty much a raging inferno right now... so fireworks are kind of iffy. but other than that, and the heat, it should be GRAND. plus I am making a red white and blue shirt to wear. hopefully I finish it and it turns out well. if it does I will post pictures. if not... I will cry.

also, I really enjoy this shirt. even though I'm not much of a ruffly person.. but it has bicycles on it! so that makes it 10000x cooler.

and these pants from target are pretty great too. I loveth them.

however, the shoes are really cheaply made. forever young shoes are really not the best quality. in fact they may be the worst...

let's talk about this vest.

hello guys. today I would like to talk about something very dear to my heart. this vest.

while I was at my grandparent's last week with markee and our sisters we went to some thrift stores. as usual. imagine my delight when I found this vest on the rack, for 2 dollars. love at first sight. it has birds on it. and it's the perfect size. yes yes yes.

I also got the purple shirt I am wearing at DI. it had shoulder pads which I took out, and now it is wonderful. I just love thrift stores. so much.

 and... I got the rest of my braces off! that's why I had to include this picture. it's the only one where I am smiling with my teeth.
